I agree that the results are generally pleasantly smooth-looking yet detailed and certain images are given a very distinctive tonal palette when using the Fuji film simulations hard to replicate elsewhere. it's important to distinguish between the full package and the free bundled software which is based on the ancient version 4 and is missing critical features such as the HDR slider. I always encourage people who are not entirely happy with their current software to give SP pro a bash. Do you have a specific camera which is not supported by v7? Otherwise, I'm not sure there's much in the way of new features when I last looked. Personally, I didn't find any reason to upgrade to 8. I suggest you contact them on, as they have been responsive in the past, to see what's up.
